Abstract최근 몇 년간 빅데이터 연구에서 텍스트 마이닝 기법이 눈에 띄게 발전해왔으며, 텍스트 분석을 통해 의미 있는 정보를 얻고 실제 생활에 활용하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 최근 개발 초기단계의 프로젝트를 수행하기 위한 자금을 모금하기 위하여`토큰 세일(token sale)`내지`코인 세일(coin sale)`을 진행하는 사례가 늘어나고 있다. 최근 이러한 신개념 화폐의 가치가 급락을 반복하면서 우리나라 전반에 커다란 파장을 일으키고 있다. 본 논문은 아직까지 개척단계에 있는 ICO에 대하여 독자들의 이해도를 높이는 데 도움을 줄 수 있고, 우리나라 ICO 정책에 대한 제언을 담고 있다는 점에서 향후 관계 당국의 정책적 접근에 있어서도 많은 시사를 주리라 생각한다. 본 논문은 가상통화 이슈 이외에 가상의 세계라는 보다 넓은 시각에서 ICO 현상을 이해하고자 하였다.
