Last year, the star of This Country went on a keto diet to slim down after lockdown, which involves eating foods which are low carb and high fat.
In a candid chat with Grazia magazine in October, discussing her appearance, Daisy said: ‘I’m so for body positivity but when I was at my biggest I was at my most miserable and I had a massive food addiction. I wasn’t healthy.I couldn’t breathe when I was walking up the stairs. I was so unhappy.
‘And I’ve had some messages like, “Well, now you’ve lost the weight you’re not funny any more.” What the f”k? Why do women have to be f king fat to be funny? That makes me so angry. I champion anybody. I think everybody should be happy with their body. But I wasn’t.’
Daisy also revealed that one of the reasons behind her divorce was her different sense of humour from her husband.
She found fame with the BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary This Country, which she created, wrote and starred in with her brother Charlie Cooper.
Yet Daisy revealed: ‘I was with a man, as wonderful as he is, who didn’t find This Country funny. It wasn’t his sense of humour.
‘It’s like, how can I possibly be with a man who doesn’t find my comedy funny? That’s f**king mad! And he deserves better than me because he has things he needs that I can’t give him.’

Following her split from ex husband Will, Daisy dated Ryan Weymouth during a five-month whirlwind romance where she got his name tattooed on her ring finger.
They ended their relationship around two weeks after she got the tattoo – which she has since had covered – but said she doesn’t care about the inking as she is making the mistakes she felt she ‘couldn’t make’ before.
Speaking about her split from her ex husband, Daisy gushed that Will is ‘amazing’ and an ‘incredible’ father but admitted lockdown ‘shone a spotlight’ on their marital difficulties.
She said they both realised that ‘there wasn’t real love there’ and said she felt that she needed to be by herself after the strains of the Covid-19 pandemic.
She told : ‘Will is amazing, an incredible, incredible dad – but fundamentally, there wasn’t real love there, I don’t think there ever was, really.’
Daisy said she thinks Will would agree with her and that they both felt pressure to get married and settle down once they reached their thirties.
The actress said cracks began to show while she was pregnant with Jack during lockdown, saying they argued about her not wanting to go out for dinner or join her family for a meal at home.
Daisy said the breaking point came when her daughter Pip asked her to put a pair of dungarees on a Sylvanian Families figure from her own childhood toy set.
She said she couldn’t get the outfit on the toy and Pip wouldn’t play with the Sylvanians like she wanted, saying she felt like she ‘couldn’t cope’ in that moment.
Daisy said it made her realise she needed a change, adding: ‘I had tears streaming down my cheeks.I told my husband — well, my then-husband — ‘I’ve got to go outside, just walk, on my own’.’

Parents: Daisy also revealed that one of the reasons behind her divorce was her different sense of humour from her husband
Daisy said she began considering divorce after reading a heartbreaking post on Mumsnet from a woman in her seventies who had felt ‘trapped’ in her marriage.
She said reading the post and then becoming friends with Selin Hizli, an old adversary from drama school, made her realise she needed to leave her marriage.
Daisy said when she became friends with Selin, they candidly spoke about what was happening in their lives, with Daisy explaining that she realised what ‘real love’ was because she felt ‘understood’ by her friend.
The This Country star said their platonic love for each other helped her to realise that she needed to move out, saying ‘life’s too short’ not to be happy.
