Former child star Orlando Brown’s lawyer is requesting a mental health check that could enable him to plead insanity in his court case.

Now Brown’s counsel is asking for an evaluation to determine if he is psychologically capable of going through a trial at all, Although Brown is no longer in jail, having posted approximately $25,000 bond last week, he remains under house arrest.

The troubled actor was arrested in December for domestic violence after a conflict with a man that he was living with, according to Brown was accused of threatening the man with a hammer and a knife blade, resulting in a first-degree misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing.
The man claimed he allowed Brown to live with him because the actor was otherwise homeless, law enforcement sources said.
His pending case is not the first time Brown faced allegations of violent behavior.
The actor was accused of having hit a woman in Torrance, California in 2017 while the pair were in a police parking lot.
Passersby witnessed the altercation between Brown and the woman – believed to have been his then-girlfriend – and told police what happened.
He failed to attend a scheduled court hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Brown was eventually arrested in early 2018 after police were called to a residence in Barstow, California after complaints of a domestic disturbance.
The actor was arrested in Ohio in December after police were called to a fight. The That’s So Raven star has previously been arrested and charged with violent offences
